Terra from "Final Fantasy VI" in Magitek armor. Took quite a while on this one. Terra sketched and colored in Photoshop, Magitek armor and background modeled in Lightwave. I really like how this one turned out. Just wish I could've done more with the lighting. Oh well.

wow this turned out really nicely. I'm a huge FF6 fan so whenever i come across fanart, particularly stuff as good as this, it really makes me smile. Her hair, clothing and the magitek armor all came out really great  The only thing i see to critique is that her head looks a little large for her body. Besides that small thing though, this came out perfectly. Definate +fav :)

Yeah, I have a problem with oversized heads. It's smaller than it was originally, but still probably not small enough! XD; FF6 is great, and I had yet to do a fanart of it... I've tried before, but failed miserably. When I finally started sketching something that looked like it might turn out okay, I had to go all out. Thanks so much for the comment + critique!

That's awsome, dan! Love the texture on the metal. how'd you do it?
Reply
:iconradicalein:
Thanks! The metal has 2 layers, one for bump mapping, and what that does is you can take any picture and use it as a bump mapping texture, as Lightwave measures the lights and darks, and makes a surface look bumpy based on that (the lighter it is, the higher the bump). Then I had a second layer that was just a color texture, so it wasn't just brown.

Yeah, that lightwave program is one hell of a program by the looks of things. Really really nice picture based on a really really nice game!

It's a program we use at school for 3D modeling and animation. It's incredibly complicated, but since my entire class was based on it last semester, I've got a decent enough understanding of it to do certain things. It's very nice.
