On a somewhat sad note, sometime within the next 24 hours I will be removing all of my Disney artwork. There has always been a little controversy around most of it, because of the fact that the drawings were based off of screenshots from their respective movies. I thank those who approached me about these issues with respect. For me, it was about a one year period in my life in which these drawings were created. They were done so as a fun way to pass the time, and really helped my observational skills in tremendous ways.
The final straw was when one of my drawings were removed from the DA staff, earlier in the week. I was pretty upset when I saw that note today. In the note, I was accused of plagiarizing, and "illegal behavior," which was highly offensive to me. I began writing an angry letter. But, it is true, with the drawing in question, there was a fine line between original art, and something someone else created. So I didn't send the letter. Actually, I think I should be flattered that it was good enough to be considered official artwork.
But in any case, I don't want to feel this low again, I don't want to start any arguments, and I don't want to hate this place. It's done so much for me. In a sense, I am sort of "giving up," but it'll allow me to focus on more original fanart (I know, it sounds like an oxymoron).
I actually haven't done one of these types of drawings in years, and really hadn't planned on it ever again. So I hope people can understand, and I won't be offended if people take me off their deviantwatch list. I just want to move an without causing any more trouble.
Maybe I'll create an original Disney-themed fanart to make up for this.
